Down Syndrome Education Enterprises provides specialist products and services that support education for young people with Down syndrome.

About us

Down Syndrome Education Enterprises (formerly DownsEd Limited) is the primary-purpose income-earning subsidiary of Down Syndrome Education International.

We sell DownsEd publications, including books, films and teaching materials, and recommended products from other publishers. We also sell DownsEd training and services, including bespoke workshops and consultancy.

We employ young people who have learning disabilities in our print production workshop in the UK from where we distribute products to order internationally. We also have a growing US-based distribution operation.

We believe in socially responsible business. We are wholly owned by the UK-based charity, Down Syndrome Education International. We supply quality products and services that assist people with Down syndrome, their families and the education and healthcare professionals supporting them. Profits from our income-earning activities are reinvested or donated to our parent charity.

We are reorganising our sites in preparation for some exciting new developments - full details of which will be appearing here over the next few months -

New online shops

During summer 2008, we will be launching new online shops. We will (at last!) be introducing full online ordering facilities with baskets, wish lists, live shipping calculation and checkout payment. We will be launching two shops - one for our international customers, carrying our full range of publications and recommended products, and one for US customers carrying our core range of publications (Down Syndrome Issues and Information and Down Syndrome in Practice).

In the meantime, our catalogue can be found at our existing shop web site and products can be ordered in the US via Phronesis Publishing.

Down Syndrome Education Conferences

Later this year, we will be launching a new global programme of education conferences. Starting in 2009, we will be hosting events for families, teachers, therapists, psychologists and other professionals and venues around the world. These conferences will offer a three day, multi-track programme of workshops and seminars to support the education and development of young people with Down syndrome.
